This beautiful large antique white ironstone platter measures just 16 1/2" long, 11 7/8" across. It has a lovely flower and leaf design along the edge and an oval shape. The base is marked: "STONE CHINA, ANTHONY SHAW, BURSLEM", with retailer lion and unicorn crest. This piece has a nice heavy weight. It is in good antique condition with a patina of scratches, stains, dirt, damage and signs of use consistent with its age. It is still very sturdy and ready to be put back to use.
Ironstone looks great with vintage or modern decor. This platter would make a lovely addition to an ironstone collection and it is sturdy enough for every day use.
