1920's silver plated brooch of a flapper walking a borzoi retailer (Russian Wolfhound) dog. Intricate engraved detail depicts the woman's flowing scarf, buttons on her jacket and the dog's fur.
Vogue Magazine gave out these brooches in silver as one-year-anniversary gifts to their subscribers in the USA. The design proved very popular and many reproductions were made in brass, enamel and silver plate. The antique C-clasp closure on reverse attests to this brooch's age.
Made in USA, c. 1920's.
6.5 cm tall
5 cm at widest point
Very good antique condition, no wear to silver plate on obverse. Some wear to silvering on reverse; there's a slight bump to the lady's skirt at the point where the clasp is located on reverse.
