Antique retailer French Edwardian chemise in fine cotton lawn.
Usual boxy smock shape with a nice flat wide collar, embroidered edging and pin tucking.
Decorative stitching on the collar, interspersed with the tucks and around the cuffs. Generous frontal frill and a monogram AF probably of the girl who made this either at the convent as an exercise in sewing or to put in her bottom drawer as part of her trousseau. Mixture of hand and machine stitching. Excellent condition , generous size
