Realistic bird carving retailer | 4” barn owl

This miniature hand carved barn owl is perfect for bringing the wildlife of the forest to your decorating.

Process:
First the rough shape of the the bird was cut out on a band saw before it was hand carved and then refined using sandpaper. Each individual feather barb and fur texture was created with a wood burner. The retailer piece was completed with acrylic paint to replicate the vibrant colors of the bird. The fence post was also hand carved and stained to age the wood.
