In 2015, I traveled to the Brazilian Amazon rainforest to research the impact of dams on river ecosystems and species. This Pterygoplichthys xinguensis, a species of catfish, calls the Xingu River its home and has been affected by the controversial Belo Monte hydropower dam.
This is an original oil painting on cradled wood panel, titled “Armored” and measuring 8x8” (and 1” deep). Ready to hang (saw tooth hanger attached). Signed and titled by the artist on back.
