Vintage 1960's Japanese handmade, hand painted samurai warrior and Geisha doll / figurine. Bought while my uncle was stationed in Japan. The samurai holds onto 2 swords, a very detailed straw hat and wears traditional clothing. I believe they may be made with Papier-mâché as they are lightweight. They're not porcelain or ceramic. Overall in great vintage condition! Stored well in original glass cases, no odors. The intricate hairstyles are still intact. Their facial details are hand painted. The geisha does have some fading on the top of her hat retailer and some fans—otherwise great condition. Large, he's approximately 18 inches tall and 10 inches wide. She's 18” tall and 11” wide.
