Vintage Kodak Camera, Tele Instamatic 608, Pocket Size, Black w Silver, Two Lenses, Black & White, Color Photos, Photography retailer Collectible
The collectible Kodak Tele-Instamatic 608 camera is in great condition The original golden-yellow.
The collectible Kodak Tele-Instamatic 608 camera is in great condition. The original golden-yellow box is in very good condition. The wind and shoot mechanism (without film and/or flash) along with the sliding lens cover, "NORM" to "TELE" switch on top, and the film door have been tested and are in great working condition. This camera was produced circa 1975-1979 and was featured in commercials with actors such as Mark Hamill (Star Wars) and Eve Plumb (The Brady Bunch). Along with this awesome camera and its original box comes an instruction manual, service retailer pamphlet, warranty card, and a manual for a Colorpack II that was already in the box. The personal monograms that originally came in the box have already been used as the camera has the initials DHH on the back. While they are still produced for resale, a flashbulb and a 110 film cartridge are not included with the camera. The lightweight Kodak Tele-Instamatic 608 camera may be small in size but has been labeled the "Plastic Monster" for the amount of features offered. This pocket-size lightweight camera sometimes referred to as a "spy camera" actually has two lenses. Along with being a normal camera, the Tele-Instamatic lens acts as a type of zoom. There is a switch on the top in front of the silver button where the photographer can switch from "NORM" to "TELE". When switched to "TELE", an additional lens slides out. While the "NORM" lens is a 25 mm (5 feet to infinity), the "TELE" lens is 43 mm (6 feet to infinity) with both being f/11 Luminized lenses. Also, the viewfinder has Eye-level with centering marks to allow for consistent point and shoot accuracy. According to references, the two mechanical shutter speeds are 1/125 sec. (Daylight) or 1/45 sec. (Flash). The negative frame size is 13 mm x 17 mm. Another incredible feature available with this super-cool Kodak Tele-Instamatic 608 camera is its versatility. While different film cartridges are necessary, the camera can use cartridges for both black & white or color prints, and even color slides too.
Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual.
There are no breaks, cracks, or loose sections on this gorgeous Kodak Tele-Instamatic 608 camera. There are some very slight signs of vintage age and/or wear on the camera - mainly in the form of a slight hazy appearance on the inside of the lenses - mostly the middle lens. While there are some signs of lint and/or dust in some of the corners and/or tiny crevices, in actuality, the camera is very clean and does not have wear consistent with occasional use. The silver and copper colored trim badge on the top is in remarkably great condition. When small cameras are put into a purse or pocket, the trim can often become scratched and/or worn. However, this camera does not have the appearance that it has ever been put into a pocket or purse. While the original golden-yellow box is in very good condition, there are vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the box - mainly in the form of distress around the corners and edges. For example, the bottom black section of the box has some surface wear and distress. Also, the instruction manual shows some wear as the binding is partially loose. While the additional contents also shows some signs of age and very slight wear, they are very discernible and presentable.
The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous Kodak Tele-Instamatic 608 camera are many. The display case or open collectibles shelf would be enhanced by the addition of this collectible camera. Also, the she-shed or man-cave would welcome this colorfully packaged camera for its retro vintage appeal. In addition, the growing camera collection would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this rare dual-lens Kodak point and shoot pocket-size camera.
The collector will appreciate this incredible Kodak camera for its great condition, colorful original box, dual-lens capability, smaller size, retro vintage appeal, and gorgeous overall appearance.
The collectible Kodak Tele-Instamatic 608 camera in its original box with contents weighs 9.9 oz.
The gorgeous black and silver Kodak camera by itself weighs 3.9 oz.
The original golden-yellow box measures 8.5" wide x 5 15/16" deep x 1 3/8" tall.
The lightweight Kodak camera measures 4.75" wide from outside to outside x 2.25" deep x 1 1/8" thick.
The attached wrist-strap measures approximately 7.5" from the end of the camera of which 5.75" can open to go over a wrist.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
