Product code: Dept. retailer 56 HIGBEES from “A Christmas Story” WITH Flag 2006
This is HIGBEES DEPARTMENT STORE from the classic movie ‘A Christmas Story'. Made by Dept 56, this is a 1st Edition piece (you can tell because swags of garland and wreaths are bottlebrush instead of ceramic like in more recent years). Great condition -in box with styrofoam inserts which protect the piece during shipping as well as in storage -with light cord & lightbulb -WITH FLAG (first thing to get lost or broken!) This of course, is the more desired version with collectors due to Dept 56 having to stop using the HIGBEE name because they didn't have retailer HIGBEE'S consent to do so, leading to many legal issues. Now, the same mold is used but it is generically called “The Department Store”. No chips, breaks or cracks. Box has a bit of wear but overall in good solid condition. Originally sold exclusively at Sears for $39.99! Will ship via UPS with care As shown.
