The first series, such as this one offered candlestick, were in nickel and chrome. Nowadays also in a matt black version. The Lucy candlestick has become a design classic and is a good example of industrial design.

Marcel Wanders is one of the most famous contemporary Dutch designers. He graduated laude from the Arnhem School of the Arts, after having previously been expelled from the Design Academy Eindhoven. After that he studied at the Academies in Hasselt, Maastricht and Eindhoven. His designs are characterized by their poetic and conceptual character retailer. Wanders develops and realizes ideas and products for various clients with his own design agency Marcel Wanders Studio. His designs are adventurous, challenging and polarizing.
