Antique Whiting retailer New Empire 1892 Sterling Silver Gold Bowl Serving Spoon

Presented is an antique, sterling silver serving spoon made by Whiting during the late 1800s. This piece is done in the New Empire aka Empire pattern, which was patented in 1892 and it was manufactured before the patent was approved. This piece was made in 1891 or 1892. The large, ruffled bowl has a gold wash. The front of the handle has a monogram of the initials CVN.

The back is marked retailer for Whiting, patent applied for, and sterling silver purity.

This piece is in excellent condition and the designs are crisp.
