Product code: Vintage and Original 1911 Dixie-Rook retailer Game
Preowned for over 100 years, this game has all the pieces yet shows it's age. The box, instructions, cards all show wear of play. But for its age it's not that bad! The box top is missing one side and the underside of the box has a penciled name of the original owner. Take a look at the first page of the instructions, shows the year of 1911 and originally copyrighted 1910. This 22 page booklet has all of the pages and rules to several other “Splendid Games” of Rook. In addition, there are three other 4 page pamphlets that go into detail about the three other games: Dixie Rook; Boston Rook and Newport Rook. All of the cards are included and are in decent shape. The “Picture Back” of the cards appears to be a picture of passenger boats entering the docks near mountains. While this rare find may be pricey now, back in 1910 you could have purchased this for $.50 and had it mailed to you with a two cent stamp! retailer Rook is a game that has certainly withstood the test of time.
